Love is in the Air, Day 3

Posted by Joni in General

Tonight we’ve got an oldie, written by Gerry Goffin and Carole King, first made popular by the Shirelles: Will You [Still] Love Me Tomorrow? [5.3MB MP3]. This version by Roberta Flack hit #76 on the Billboard Charts for 1972. Since that time, it’s been covered by, among others, Carole King (Tapestry), Dusty Springfield (A Girl Called Dusty), Cher (Cher) and Linda Ronstadt (Silk Purse). Lyrics below.

Tonight you’re mine, completely
You give your soul so sweetly
Tonight the light of love is in your eyes
But will you love me tomorrow

Is this a lasting treasure
Or just a moment’s pleasure
Can I believe the magic in your sighs
And will you love me tomorrow

Tonight with words unspoken
You say that I’m the only one
But will my heart be broken
When the night meets the morning sun

I’d like to know if your love
Is a love I can be sure of
So tell me now and I won’t ask again
Will you still love me tomorrow
Will you still love me tomorrow
Will you still love me tomorrow
