Who Does She Think She Is?

Let’s Hear it for the Boys!

MedB has discovered yet another example of her husband’s love for her. In what some may call a “little” way. But which to her meant quite a bit.

I know how she feels. When Robert landed in the hospital last September, I never realized how much he had actually been doing for me around the house until he wasn’t there to do it for me. I had become spoiled. And quite possibly I had started taking him for granted. Because then it became my responsibility to hold down the fort. I had to be sure the cat pan was cleaned and changed (ick), take the trash out on Wednesday nights and haul the can to the curb (that night if I was smart, but more likely early on Thursday morning, when I was already running late for work). No more home cooked meals waiting for me when I got home. No more “just checking to see how your day’s going” phone calls (at least for the first month or so while he was so sick) at work to pull me out of a slump.

I can say now, though, with the new chair here, I’m getting some of the old Robert back. Just a few nights ago, I came home to the aroma of roast pork. He had made dinner, right down to dessert (Robert loves to cook). All I had to do to help out was pour our drinks and we sat down to a wonderful dinner. It’s nice to have Robert back. He may not get up and walk to the corner grocery store, but he’s back in full swing around the house, and that’s something I didn’t think I’d see this soon.

And I promise I won’t ever take him for granted ever again.

So ladies, go find your guy and give him a hug and a kiss. (And don’t bother to tell him why. Let him wonder!)
