No, not homeland security, just computer security. I finally got broadband (cable modem) last week and I’ve been busy getting all the security patches and updates for Windows, Office and IE6 to keep attacks at a minimum (hopefully). You know, when I was using Corel WordPerfect, I never had to worry about inadvertantly launching a malicious VB script. WordPerfect got it right with its PerfectScripts, which do not cater to hackers. Why on earth our law firm decided to switch us from WordPerfect (which we’ve used since at least 1990 and I’ve used since 1988) is beyond me. (Shrug.) But since that’s what we use at work now, I’ve been weaning myself off WordPerfect here at home too.
