In Facebook Jail Again….

This time, the reason is even more outrageous than before. I belong to a group called Queen Sugar, the Discussion Group. Because it’s one of my favorite TV shows. Awhile back, I posted about the series’ star, Nova (played by one of my favorite accesses, Rutina Wesley). I mentioned that I didn’t think “that heifer was afraid of anything!” And I got trounced on for using the word “heifer”.

Since I retired and have run out of salary, and am now collecting Social Security Retirement (and pension, which basically goes to make my COBRA payment), I have had to radically revise my budget. And now, since I have some free time on my hands, I’ve decided to clean out my closets and put some stuff on eBay. Starting with handbags I haven’t used in years.

Anyone who truly knows me knows how important music is to me. I must have it wherever I go, in every room in the house. The TV? Not so much.

I have always loved music more than TV and movies. I used to joke with Roberto that someone could break in and steal the TV and it would be months before I’d notice. Steal my stereo, it’s gonna get ugly!

I recently went to turn my stereo on in the living room because I wanted to sit and fold towels and listen to some old music on vinyl (e.g., Brian Ferry, ARC Angels, etc.). But the amp was dead as a door nail.

Party Like It’s 2018!

I turned 60 years of age on Friday, July 13. A party was had and here are some photos from it. Everyone who meant something to me was there. But of course, there were a handful who could not make it. They had decent excuses and they were sorely missed. (They know who they are!)

Dinner was at Kim-Son Restaurant, 2001 Jefferson, Houston, Texas. I had the shrimp egg foo young. We started out with Vietnamese egg rolls, the crispy ones that come with the fish sauce and cilantro and lettuce leaves. Honestly, I could have just eaten plates full of those all night long.

2017 wasn’t much to speak of. I became ill in the summer and spent two weeks in the hospital and six weeks home on medical leave over yet another wicked diabetic foot ulcer, exacerbated by my newly-diagnosed (April 2017) CHF. But the year did end with a bang as I began to recuperate and spent the holidays with beloved friends.
