In Facebook Jail Again….

This time, the reason is even more outrageous than before. I belong to a group called Queen Sugar, the Discussion Group. Because it’s one of my favorite TV shows. Awhile back, I posted about the series’ star, Nova (played by one of my favorite accesses, Rutina Wesley). I mentioned that I didn’t think “that heifer was afraid of anything!” And I got trounced on for using the word “heifer”.

Since I retired and have run out of salary, and am now collecting Social Security Retirement (and pension, which basically goes to make my COBRA payment), I have had to radically revise my budget. And now, since I have some free time on my hands, I’ve decided to clean out my closets and put some stuff on eBay. Starting with handbags I haven’t used in years.

Facebook Jail

I’ve been in Facebook “jail” (suspended from posting, liking, or commenting on Facebook) several times last year due to my interactions with Trumpanzees mostly.

This last round, I was suspended by Facebook for 30 days for “hate speech” which consisted of me sharing a video from “Ticked Off Vic”, which was a profanity-laced rant (it’s his schtick) about the energy failure in Texas over the past week. I posted my own profanity-laced commentary to that video in support of Vic’s position, with a final admonition, “Mask the fuck up”. That got me banned for 30 days.

Chicken-Asparagus Pasta

I decided I was tired of rice so I scrapped my original idea to make a chicken and rice casserole. I just browned my chicken thighs and then brown the following vegetables: asparagus, celery, mushrooms, and onion, in oil and butter. Then I dumped in a box of rotini pasta and 2 cups of vegetable broth, returned the brown chicken thighs to the pan put a lid on it and I’m steaming it for 25 minutes. Right before it’s done I’m gonna stir in a little cream so I’ll have a nice pasta casserole. I’ll post a picture when it’s finished. I hope it turns out good, or at least edible, because it’s what I will be eating for the next few days. I used my Sunny Paris Penzeys spices blend on the chicken thighs and on the vegetables along with some all purpose Greek seasoning. No salt of course. And my vegetable broth is always either low or no sodium. Recipe and cooking times below.

Amazon Scam Alert

Posted by Joni in Current Events

I sent an e-gift card to a friend this morning via the Amazon.com web site. I got the usual, customary Amazon confirming email indicating my order had been placed.

Weirdly, about an hour later, I got a phone call from a local number which went to voice mail. Here is the voice mail. I thought it was odd so decided to call Amazon to see if they had indeed contacted me about the gift card order. They had not. And in fact, they told me they had been inundated with calls this morning even from people who do not have Amazon accounts. There is a huge scam afoot right now. DO NOT click on any links sent to you in a suspicious text, as it is likely a phishing attempt.

Don’t know where I ran across this on YouTube but it vanished and I recall making a copy of it because I was so taken with it. Glad I did. Enjoy. “Please Don’t Break My World” by Global Genius.
